Nuctech’s "Intelligent Under-Vehicle Inspection Robot System and Key Technologies" Passes Scientific and Technological Achievement Appraisal
On December 26, 2025, the Group’s Science and Technology Department organized an appraisal meeting in Beijing for the scientific and technological achievement titled "Key Technologies and Application of Intelligent Under-Vehicle Inspection Robot," a project jointly completed by Weisight and Tsinghua University.
The appraisal committee for this meeting was chaired by Professor Zhang Ziqiang from Beijing University of Technology, with experts from China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), the Identification Center of the Ministry of Public Security, Beihang University, North China Electric Power University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and other institutions serving as committee members.
The expert panel listened to the project team’s report and reviewed the relevant project materials. After thorough inquiry and discussion, the appraisal committee unanimously concluded that the project addresses the critical national security needs in fields such as counter-terrorism and drug enforcement by tackling key technologies including vehicle chassis scanning, automatic centering, image correction, and automatic parking. It has developed a one-click inspection under-vehicle robot system, enabling intelligent under-vehicle scanning and imaging for multi-scenario applications. The project’s achievements have reached an internationally leading level and demonstrate broad market application prospects. After comprehensive review, the appraisal committee agreed that the "Key Technologies and Application of Intelligent Under-Vehicle Inspection Robot" project has passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal.
The project’s outcomes not only address the pain points of traditional under-vehicle inspection methods—such as low efficiency, high risk of missed detection, and lack of data traceability—but also, with their high deployment flexibility, environmental adaptability, and intelligent performance, meet the stringent operational requirements of users in customs, public security, border defense, and other fields. These achievements have not only contributed significantly to safeguarding public security and enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of security inspections but also hold profound strategic significance for advancing the localization and intelligent development of security technologies.
