On December 3, the Annual Conference of the China Association for Quality and the Third Pursuit of Excellence Congress were held in Beijing with great significance. During the event, the project titled "Key Technology Development and Application of Gamma Scanning Measurement System for Radioactive Waste Barrels in the Nuclear Industry," jointly submitted by Nuctech as the lead organization, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute Co., Ltd., and Tsinghua University, stood out among 1,716 national entries and successfully secured the "Second Prize of the 2025 National Quality Technology Award (Project Category)." This national-level honor serves as authoritative recognition of Nuctech's dual strengths in technological innovation and quality management, marking a milestone in the company's journey toward high-quality development.
The National Quality Technology Award is a national-level scientific and technological accolade approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Office for Science and Technology Awards. Led by the China Association for Quality, it brings together government, academic, and corporate stakeholders, establishing itself as the most influential "bellwether" award in the field of quality technology. With over a thousand entries annually, the award features a rigorous review process and exceptionally high professional standards. It emphasizes both the originality of technology and its practical application value, maintaining an annual award rate of less than 20%. Nuctech’s success in standing out among formidable competitors from key national strategic sectors such as nuclear power, aerospace, and electronics fully demonstrates that its quality technology capabilities have reached an advanced national level, earning high recognition from both the industry and the national level.
By deeply integrating advanced quality management methods such as QFD, DOE, and DFMEA into the entire product lifecycle, Nuctech has successfully developed China's first dual-mode gamma scanning measurement system for radioactive waste barrels based on SGS/TGS technology. Utilizing entirely domestically produced core components, the system breaks international monopolies. Through high-precision algorithms and efficient calibration technologies, it achieves precision, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in radioactive waste detection. This breakthrough effectively resolves the critical challenge of accurate detection prior to the safe disposal of radioactive waste in China's nuclear industry, establishing a robust technological barrier for the safe and green development of the national nuclear energy sector.
This award is a testament to the deep integration of Nuctech's quality management practices and its pursuit of excellence. It signifies a leap forward in Nuctech's independent innovation and leadership in cutting-edge quality technologies, showcasing the company's commitment to empowering high-quality development through technological innovation and quality management.
