On December 25, 2025, the scientific and technological achievement appraisal meeting for the "Key Technologies and Applications of Multimodal Intelligent Rail Cargo/Vehicle Inspection System" project, jointly completed by Nuctech and Tsinghua University, was successfully held.
The appraisal committee, composed of experts from multiple institutions including the Nuclear Industry Institute of Physics and Chemistry, North China Electric Power University, China Isotope and Radiation Association, the Institute of Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Capital Normal University, and Beijing Normal University, evaluated the technical value and application prospects of the project’s achievements.
After carefully listening to the project team’s report, rigorously reviewing relevant materials, and engaging in thorough inquiries and in-depth discussions, the appraisal committee unanimously concluded that the project addresses the critical national security needs for non-intrusive inspection in fields such as customs, public security, and drug enforcement. It has overcome technical challenges in multimodal multi-view X-ray imaging, intelligent navigation and driving, high-gradient accelerators, and multi-joint retractable mechanical devices, resulting in the world’s first large-scale mobile robotic inspection equipment. This achievement enables multi-mode, multi-scenario applications, reaches internationally leading standards, and holds broad market prospects. Following a comprehensive review, the appraisal committee approved the project’s passage of the scientific and technological achievement appraisal.
Based on the above advanced technologies, Nuctech® MR6000DE Cargo/Vehicle Inspection System is an intelligent and mobile robotic X-ray inspection system.
