As the Hainan Free Trade Port approaches its island-wide customs closure, Nuctech has been deeply involved for nearly five years, using technology to solidify the operation's "security foundation." During recent comprehensive drills across 10 secondary border checkpoints in the province, Nuctech's intelligent inspection equipment performed stably and effectively.
Nuctech has achieved comprehensive coverage at key port scenarios:
Airports: It has supplied static CT systems for hold luggage, CT systems for carry-on baggage, and other advanced equipment to Haikou Meilan, Sanya Phoenix, and Qionghai Boao airports. At Sanya Airport, Nuctech implemented the first complete integrated system for customs health, passenger inspection, and IT infrastructure.
Seaports: At Yangpu Port, Nuctech innovatively integrated equipment and IT systems for customs, maritime safety, and border inspection, creating a unified, unmanned smart supervision system. This project was among the first batch approved in the province.
Rail Ports: At the Railway South Port, a critical crossing point, Nuctech deployed a full suite of "smart equipment," including inspection systems for rail cargo, vehicles, and coaches, all utilizing intelligent image review technology.
Centralized Inspection Fields: At the Haikou Xinhaigang and Nangang secondary border checkpoints (for cargo), Nuctech installed 7 rapid cargo/vehicle inspection systems. These are expected to handle over 80% of the island's outbound cargo logistics.
A key technological innovation is Nuctech's globally pioneering "integrated customs and security inspection" model. Implemented at major airports and ports, it allows "one-scan, dual-purpose" inspection, enabling passengers and goods to complete customs and security checks simultaneously without repeated queues.
Nuctech's cargo inspection systems feature technologies like automatic vehicle cabin recognition and dual-energy imaging to accurately distinguish materials. The systems can also be integrated with radiation detection and license plate recognition modules. Furthermore, Nuctech contributed to the development of an AI-based image review system for identifying "exotic pets," highlighted by Chinese customs authorities.
Facing tight schedules and challenges like typhoons during installations, Nuctech's team prioritized safety, achieving zero safety incidents throughout the project cycles.
Looking ahead, Nuctech will continue to support the Hainan Free Trade Port's island-wide customs closure with advanced intelligent supervision solutions.
